Counter-Strike 2 Update: New Patch Changes Map Pool, Adds Left-Handed Viewmodel

The latest Counter-Strike 2 update has added a new feature that has eluded the multiplayer shooting game for so long, left-handed perspective, and also changes the current map pool.

The new left-handed viewmodel feature comes more than two decades since terrorists and counter-terrorists have fought on the battlefield. The developers of Counter-Strike 2 have now given players' left hands more things to do other than just support and reloading.

The latest patch now allows players to set a preferred handedness so that every match starts exactly how you want it to, on the correct side. The new feature is also networked, which means that anyone who is spectating you will also see whether you are set to left or right-handedness.

Players will also be able to change their handedness settings in the middle of a round, which will let you peek your gun around a corner in a different way. This is done by pressing H by default on the QWERTY US Keyboard, according to PCGamer.

The game also shows a little animation where your character tosses the knife from one side to another if you have one out when changing settings. On top of the new feature, the latest update also includes revamped maps, refined user interfaces, and gameplay mechanics.

The patch also makes some changes to the game's buy menu, adding new features that were designed to simplify the process of buying stuff.

A notable change is that players can now view the minimum amount of money that they are guaranteed to have in the next round. This is particularly useful in strategic planning and economy management.

There is also a new "Dropped Weapons" panel that allows for easy retrieval of discarded weapons within the buy zone in the first stages of the match. The developers have also added a grenade lineup reticle that helps players in executing precise throws.

It features customizable delays for different grenade types to ensure optimal timing for tactical combat mechanics. The patch also adds a radar map alternate zoom setting and toggle key binding that provides improved navigation through smoke and cluttered environments, said OneEsports.

Adding Preferred Handedness

The patch's changes to the map pool have Dust II making a comeback while Overpass, on the other hand, takes a small break. Inferno has also received some noteworthy changes, such as the removal of obstructive structures and adjustments to play collision dynamics.

Regarding gameplay, the new patch made some adjustments to weapon statistics, such as increased kill rewards for certain firearms and movement speed changes for the Zeus taser. There are also adjustments to weapon finishes, inventory management improvements, and the addition of the Overwatch system.

The HUD/UI changes mean that the line-up reticles appear when the player has pulled the pin on grenades, which is why the update also lets players adjust the timing.

This is a welcome addition that many players who have spent some time in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive would have loved to see during their time, according to Rock Paper Shotgun.
