'Kingdom Hearts III' 2017 Release Date Unlikely Happening, Says Square Enix

Despite speculations that "Kingdom Hearts III" might see a late 2017 release, it appears fans might have to wait a little bit longer than that. It has been reported that Square Enix recently shared some investor's documents that detail their active projects. The document was reportedly posted by users in NeoGAF. Based on the information from the internal papers, it seems that the third installment of the crossover RPG is scheduled for a 2018 launch.

The revelation will certainly disappoint fans who have patiently waited for more than a decade for "Kingdom Hearts III". On the other hand, sources claim that Square Enix is still set to showcase some more of its gameplay and features this year. It is also suspected that the company will have more footage and information about the RPG at E3 2017 this June. However, if it won't happen during E3, then it might be safe to assume that it will most likely pop up during this year's Tokyo Game Show, reports Game Rant.

Meanwhile, the shared document also showcases other titles aside from "Kingdom Hearts III". Some of these games are some high-profile games from Square Enix like "Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age" and "Dragon Quest XI", which are scheduled to come out this year. However, the RPG together with other highly-anticipated games were shown under the schedule 2018 and beyond.

Another sought-after game that was listed by the documents together with "Kingdom Hearts III" was "Final Fantasy VII Remake". Moreover, the unnamed Avengers game was also listed to be released sometime in 2018 or longer. Fans eager to hear any possibility of these games releasing this year will surely be disappointed. At least it is good to know that Square Enix is not rushing the development of these top-shelf titles.

Analysts also agree with Square Enix's decision not to rush the release of "Kingdom Hearts III". The company recently released remasters of the older "kingdom Hearts" games reportedly still had the same bugs that plagued the original title, reports Gamenguide.
