'Star Wars Battlefront 2' To Feature Split-Screen Co-Op, Confirms Developer

"Star Wars" fans finally got to view the official trailer for "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" during the "Star Wars Celebration" last weekend. Additionally, the event also revealed some information about "Star Wars Battlefront 2". The sequel is expected to improve on a lot of things that were reportedly missing in the first game and add some fan-requested features. It has been confirmed that the game will feature a split-screen co-op when the game launches.

The story in "Star Wars Battlefront 2" focuses on an Imperial soldier named Iden Versio. The soldier was able to witness the second Death Star's destruction, which causes him to embark on a quest for revenge, says Game Rant. His adventure will apparently affect some of the notable events in the sequel, which might have something to do with how the split-screen co-op might come in, claims speculations. Fans should expect more news about the game during EA's E3 press conference this June 2017.

Information about the split-screen co-op in "Star Wars Battlefront 2" remains scarce, but a couple of sources have supposedly confirmed that the feature will be a console exclusive only. PC gamers will reportedly lack this feature when the game comes out for all platforms. Gamer suspect the multiplayer feature will be an offline-only experience just like the ones featured in some FPS games on consoles before.

More details about the "Star Wars Battlefront 2" split-screen co-op mode reveal that gamers can earn rewards with their friends. These prizes are reportedly transferred over to the game's online multiplayer mode. It seems that these rewards are limited to customization items which can be used in the game's 40-player online multiplayer game modes. It will hopefully encourage gamers to also play with their companion offline for some in-game loot.

Other than the fan-requested split-screen co-op feature, fans will most likely appreciate the fact that "Star Wars Battlefront 2" will not have any Season Pass, says Forbes. A lot of fans complained that the first game felt incomplete and that players are required to spend money for DLC to add more meat to the game.
