‘Minecraft’ UK Live: Here’s What To Expect On April 18 Livestream

"Minecraft" hybrid console version announcement has been accompanied with a released date. It is expected that the Nintendo eShop will be offering "Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition" first on May 11 and then in other stores at a later date. In addition, more footage of the video game series is expected to be revealed on April 18.

"Minecraft" Gets New Glide Tracks

Neogaf user Cerium was quick to repost a Twitter post revealing Microsoft's intention to reveal more about the upcoming "Minecraft" game on the Nintendo Switch. Roger Carpenter @PopsRamjet unveiled that the next "Minecraft" UK Live live stream will be held on Tuesday, April 18. Note that the live stream will start at either 4 pm or 5 pm UK time, My Nintendo News reported.

It is expected that Carpenter will be joined by @mcdamoski. The duo is set to reveal more of the new Glide tracks coming to the Nintendo Switch. In "Minecraft," gamers may compete with their friends in Glide, Tumble or Battle - mini games for the console editions where gamers embark on a fight for survival and high scores.

The Nintendo Switch version of "Minecraft" is also expected to pack six content packs along with the "Super Mario Mash Up." The edition will feature 40 skins from "Super Mario" including Princess Peach, Luigi and Mario as well as the troublemakers Wario and Bowser and all seven Koopalings. The Nintendo Switch version continues the game's near-ubiquity on consoles after the versions for PC, Linux, Mac, Android, iOS, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS Vita, PS4 and Wii U, among others.

Nintendo Switch Version May Be The Best

Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch edition of "Minecraft" is said to be in comparison with the Wii U version. It has been noted that the game will be launching with content exclusive to Nintendo platforms. Furthermore, with the portability nature of the console, it is expected that "Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition" will be an ideal version, The Verge reported.

"Minecraft" developers have already sold 106 million copies of the game as of last year. With this high number of sales, the game has been placed among the best-selling games of all time. In 2014, Microsoft bought the game from Mojang for $2.5 billion. Just last year, the game received a major update on Windows 10.
