PlayStation 5 is rumored to be in the works. However, Sony may not make the announcement anytime soon as the rumored console is still under the preparation process. It is expected that the Japanese tech giant would reveal the new gaming system in the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 2017).

PlayStation 5 Will Be More Powerful Than Microsoft Xbox Scorpio

The event is slated to be held at the L.A. Convention Center in June 2017. It is expected that the PlayStation 5 will debut then. There are already a number of reports about the upcoming gaming system from the makers of the PS4 Pro and it is highly anticipated that the PlayStation 5 will come with a number of striking features and specs.

The PlayStation 5 predecessor was known to deliver a unique VR experience. Hence, it is expected that the PlayStation 5 will roll out with a top of the line VR support. The upcoming gaming system is rumored to come in two variants with a different set of specs to boost.

Rumor has it that the PlayStation 5 will boast photorealistic graphics. Furthermore, the PlayStation 5 is believed to come with 4k support and AMD powered chips. Compared to the upcoming Xbox Scorpio from Microsoft, the PlayStation 5 is rumored to be more powerful, Learn Bonds reported. On that note, tech analyst Damian Thong revealed that the PlayStation 5 may be able to boost a 10+ teraflop of GPU while Project Scorpio is deemed to feature only 6 teraflops of GPU.

PlayStation 5 Release Price Revealed

In other news, the Xbox Marketing boss Aaron Greenberg has revealed that the Xbox Project Scorpio will be the latest console generation, Market Exclusive reported. The Scorpio is slated to play 4K games and videos like the PS4 Pro. Microsoft is set to launch the Xbox Scorpio in late 2017 while the PlayStation 5 is rumored to launch in the second half of 2018.

PlayStation 5 is also believed to launch with support for VR headsets. Rumor has it that the console will be shipped with its own virtual reality headset. It is expected that Sony will offer the PlayStation 5 for $500 as Microsoft is rumored to sell Project Scorpio for the same price.
