Lords of Waterdeep iOS Undermountain Expansion Released, Game Gets First-Ever Sale

Playdek has announced that they have released Undermountain, a massive expansion for their popular Lords of Waterdeep iOS game. Set in the Forgotten Realms from Dungeons and Dragons, the game already offered a perfect adaptation of the popular Wizards of the Coast board game, but now with the release of Undermountain there's even more for fans to experience. Haven't picked up either game yet? In celebration of the expansion's release the base game has gone on sale for the first time ever- down to $4.99 from $6.99.

In the Undermountain expansion as with the base game, players control one of the Lords of Waterdeep, the secret rulers of the city. Now however the game supports up to six players (up from five) in pass-and-play and asynchronous online multiplayer, as well as player-versus-computer.

This new expansion will give you the chance to explore Undermountain, a huge dungeon below Mount Waterdeep. It once served as the home for a "crazed wizard" named Halaster who used it for magical experiments, more than a few of that you will encounter. Four new quests are available but so will many new monsters.

The expansion offers up three new Lord cards- the Wizard Halaster Black Cloak, clever dandy Danilo Thann, and Halaster’s apprentice Trobirand. An expanded gameboard includes three new buildings and an extra agent, and new buildings for purchase.

“The Undermountain expansion is a highly-anticipated release that fans have been asking for since day one,” said Joel Goodman, CEO, Playdek in a press release. “Being able to work with the talented people over at Wizards of the Coast on this expansion has been exciting and we are happy to be able to bring this out for our fans to enjoy.”

Lords of Waterdeep: Undermountain is currently available in the app store for $2.99.
