Amazon has just added another member to its Amazon Echo Family. The company has added the Amazon Echo Show and it's the first model to sport touchscreen. It apparently does everything the other previous models can do. The new model also enhances the user's experience with its display, unlike the older models that relied on the user's connected smartphone for visual elements. Every Alexa skill is reportedly supported by the Echo Show as well.

Design

Unlike the previous Amazon Echo models, the Amazon Echo Show Sports an angular design as opposed to the rounded and curvy structures of the older versions. The side panels and rear are bare, while the physical control buttons are located on top. The controls are for Power, Volume Up and Volume Down. The front of the Show holds the display with a front-mounted camera up top. The bottom portion holds the two Dolby-powered speakers that output all the audio from the device. According to GSM Arena, the Echo Show comes in black or white colors.

Hardware

The Amazon Echo Show weighs in at 41 ounces and holds a 7-inch touchscreen up front. A 5-megapixel camera sits on top of the display and allows users to make video calls to other Amazon Echo Show devices. Its dual-band Wi-Fi supports 802.11 b/g/n networks and comes with Bluetooth connectivity. The Show is powered by an Intel Atom X5-Z8350 chipset

Features

According to Forbes, The Amazon Echo Show can also integrate itself with the user's Smart Home devices. Consumers can wireless control their lights, cameras and other Smart Home-enabled devices through Alexa. Forbes notes that smart home camera integrations from Arlo and Ring work best with the device. The 7-inch touchscreen also allows users to view YouTube videos and Amazon Prime movies with a simple voice command.

Price and release date

The Amazon Echo Show is scheduled to launch on June 28, 2017, for $299.99. Consumers can already pre-order the device now from Amazon and avail of their special discount for two units. Customers can use the promo code SHOW2PACK during checkout to knock $100 off the price.
