Assassin's Creed: Comet Plot Rumors Pop Up

Rumors Have Assassin's Creed: Comet as a Follow Up to Black Flag, and Possibly Connect to Creed 3's Connor

While we know the basics of Assassin's Creed: Unity thanks to a brief announcement trailer, Ubisoft has still left us in the dark towards its other Creed game, Comet. However, two new theories have begun floating around declaring the game will be connected to the recent Black Flag.

The first rumor comes from French site GameBlog, declaring that the game will take place in 1758, and center around a young Englishman named Shay betraying his captain, Adéwale, first mate of Black Flag protagonist Edward Kenway, and star of the Black Flag storied DLC Freedom Cry. The

Not having the best understanding of French, their source for the information seems more speculative, but the site was correct when it pegged the new games' announcements being made in March, and revolving around the French Revolution.

The second rumor comes from a screenshot of a supposed press release. GameRanx provided the shot, but didn't specify where exactly it came from. Dated for tomorrow, March 28, the quality of the picture isn't the best, but here's what can be read:

"Today, Ubisoft announced Assassin's Creed: Comet, the next installment in the company's best selling franchise. Assassin's Creed Comet introduces us to an all new hero and follows the story of the 2012's Assassin's Creed III, [can't be seen] the story of the Kenway Saga to an epic conclusion."

"Assassin's Creed Comet tells the story of Eseosa, grandson of Adwale from Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry, who needs to seek the advice and guidance of the Assassin Connor. Eseosa is an intelligent youg man with a naive personality."

This one seems a bit more logical, and would tie into Unity's theme of revolution. It's been established in Creed lore that Eseosa was a leading figure in the Haitian Revolution in 1791 to 1804, meaning it could (theoretically) take place around roughly the same time as Unity. Connor and Eseosa meeting was established by the community-oriented Assassin's Creed: Initiates project.

However, given the quality of the shot, the "release's" poor English, and the fact that it looks like it was posted on a messageboard, is more than enough to raise an eyebrow or two. If it proves to be legitimate, then we should know sometime tomorrow.
