Hope you have your lineup planned and your hands on your Poké-balls, because the 2014 Pokémon World Championships have been formally announced, set to take place this August in Washington, D.C. Gamers will compete in X, Y, and the Trading Card Game.
Feel like going? Better hop on an airplane, because at least six other tournaments have been organized on continents around the world to determine their own winners to go and face off in D.C. Here's a brief schedule:
* German National Championships: May 3-4, 2014, in Bochum, Germany
* UK National Championships: May 24-25, 2014, in Manchester, England
* Italian National Championships: May 31-June 1, 2014, in Milan, Italy
* Canadian National Championships: June 28, 20414, in Kitchener, Ontario
* US National Championships: July 4-6, 2014, in Indianapolis, Indiana
Additional Pokémon National Championships will be held in Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Europe, North America, and South America. Top finishers will move on to the 2014 Pokémon World Championships, to be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC
For those of you here in the states, your best bet to attend is to win the Spring Regional Championships, events for which are set to begin this weekend in Massachusetts, Georgia, Kansas, and Washington. Check the schedule below for the closest location near you, and when to head there:
