Grand Theft Auto News: Story DLC Teased, and What's Coming to GTA Online This Spring

Heists Finally Coming to GTA Online Alongside Capture Creator and High Life Update

Outside, the snow is melting, the ice is beginning to thaw, but that's still no reason to not stay indoors. Rockstar has many reasons why you'll want to keep your feet up and your ass on the couch, as a new post on the Rockstar Newswire provided a rundown of the new content that's coming to Grand Theft Auto Online through the spring.

Next week sees the release of the Capture Creator, which will allow player to make their own Capture jobs, as in, "the Flag." Teams raid the enemy HQ to find a package, and bring it back to their own "base." Tweakable options include weapons, locations, and more. The jobs will join the millions of other pieces user created content like Deathmatches, Races, etc., with the best earning the "Rockstar Verified" stamp of approval.

The next update to add in more content is the High Life update, which offers new high-end safehouses (of which players will now be able to own more than one) new clothes, vehicles, and weapons. Exact details were slim, but among the new weapons is the Bullpup Rifle, and vehicles include the Dinka Thrust motorcycle, and three cars including the Super class Pegassi Zentorno, modeled after the Lamborghini Veneno.

Perhaps the most asked for GTA Online feature is finally on the way as well, namely, Heists. Rockstar didn't offer much detail here, like whether players could create their own. All that was mentioned was, "players can team up with their most trusted Crew members or with random other mercenaries in Grand Theft Auto Online to pull off cooperative Heist Missions for glory and profit. Stay tuned for much more information to come."

In the future, expect more holiday themed content, like we saw with Christmas and Valentine's Day, and even "some very exciting Story Mode DLC."

Rockstar also listed some specific adjustments that will be coming in future title updates:

* addition of a 'Non-Contact' option for Races allowing for standard Races with collisions disabled between player vehicles. Other players will appear as semi-transparent and you'll still be able to collide with non-player traffic, structures and other scenery, but this mode - for those who want to play it - will eliminate the "rubbing is racing" mentality that some wish to avoid.
* restoration of original in-air motorcycle/bike physics
* players will be able to call Lester and have him tell his cop buddies to turn a blind eye to any crime you may or may not be committing for a short period of time.
* bonus RP granted for players who like or dislike Jobs after playing them.
* GTA$ payouts increased when completing Parachute, Races, Deathmatches and LTS Jobs with less than 4 players.
* closure of RP exploits and adjustment of RP totals of players known to have gained illegitimate RP by cheating.
* fixing the issue where players who had upgraded personal vehicles prior to Title Update 1.10 were only able to sell them for $10,000.

We'll keep you posted as more details comes in.
