Borderlands 2 For PlayStation Vita Graphics Comparison: How Does It Stack Up To PS3 and PC?

Let's See Just How Good Borderlands on Vita Can Be With a Graphics Comparison, Shall We?

Borderlands 2 for PlayStation Vita seems like it was announced ages ago, but it's finally just about out, with a release date set for next month.

But just how well did the vault hunting mega-game translate to the handheld powerhouse? Well, not perfectly, but it looks pretty damn good for a handheld. Gearnuke took a look at the Vita screens against the PS3 and PC versions of the game, and while it's not perfect, it's certainly nice looking for a handheld system.

I took the three images from the different systems and spliced them together above for ease of viewing, but be sure to check them out at the source as well.

So, what are the differences? Well, you'll notice right away that the pistol isn't nearly as defined on the Vita. The environment seems to have a lot more hard lines in it, which isn't necessarily a bad thing for a game that relies on the cel shading style that Borderlands is famous for. Other than that, everything looks pretty much the same. Definitely encouraging for the Vita-owning crowd that AAA console games really can make their way to the handheld scene. Here's to hoping that more developers hop on that bandwagon, and maybe start making games available on Vita at the same time as consoles.

For those fair few Vita owners out there, is this a must-purchase? Does the impending Vita bundle featuring Borderlands for free make you want to pick one up? Let us know in the comments.
