'MLB 14 The Show' PS4 Graphics Look Fantastic in Dramatic First Trailer [VIDEO]

MLB 14 The Show PS4 Debuts in Dramatic First Trailer [VIDEO]

From what we've seen in screenshots and the graphics upgrades developer video, MLB 14: The Show looks incredibly good on PlayStation 4. The game's first trailer, a dramatic video hyping the sport of baseball itself, confirms that it looks great in motion--check out those crowds!

The game has been out on PS3 and Vita since April 1, and will be making its way to PS4 on May 6. We already know the game itself is good, which is why some much emphasis can be put on how great it looks on the new hardware. Player and crowd models are quite sharp, and the stadiums that host the games are realistic and impressive. The blades of grass and strands of hair have all been individually rendered (yes, really) using the new console's improved horsepower.

In a very commendable move by Sony, all three versions will support cross save functionality, meaning you can play your save files across each system. Any files you may have started (on, say, your Vita) can be carried over to the PS4 version and continued there when it's released.

The Show has been the best baseball game running over the past several years, and one of the most well-received sports franchises in general since its inception in 2006. Right now, it's the only baseball simulator on the market following 2K's cancellation of its baseball series after last year. The door is opened for EA to make a move for a title using the MLB rights vacated by 2K, but The Show reigns supreme for the time being.
