Trials Frontier iOS Success Thrills Ubisoft, Title Downloaded 6 Million Times in One Week

Trials Frontier, a mobile game based on Redlynx's popular motorbike physics series, has been a smash hit according to Ubisoft. The title went live on the iOS App Store April 10, and has since then been downloaded an astounding six million times.

Trials Frontier is the number one free app on the App Store in 75 different countries. Ubisoft also noted the game's very high review scores, currently averaging 4.5 out of 5 stars. So many downloads in just 12 days is something you would expect Ubisoft to be pleased with, and that is certainly the case.

"We are thrilled with the success Trials Frontier has had in its first week of launch," said Ubisoft Mobile boss Jean-Michel Detoc. "Trials Frontier has the most first week downloads of any Ubisoft mobile title to date, and the thousands of players reviews we received are amazingly positive, an achievement Redlynx and Ubisoft are proud to announce."

Very good news for Ubisoft in total: with Trials Frontier, they've got the most popular free app in circulation right now, and an internal record-setting mobile game. This initial surge of success isn't going to be a flash in the pan if their plans go well, because they want to continue supporting the game moving forward.

"In order to keep players engaged, we have a robust post-launch content plan including new bikes and multiplayer modes that will allow players to continue exploring and enjoying the world of Trails Frontier."

Trails Frontier does employ some less-than-desirable freemium features, such as a limited amount of fuel you can spend to play, but individual games can be restarted without spending your reserves, which preserves the core experience. The Android version is coming at a later date, which will boost these already-stellar download numbers even more.
