New Image of the Amazon Phone Leak, Could Release This Summer [RUMORS]

Could This Be the Amazon Phone Uncovered? It Certainly Looks Like It

A couple of weeks ago BGR came out with the alleged first images of the long-rumored Amazon phone, and now it seems that they've gotten their hands on a much clearer press shot of the device.

So what can we see in the new picture? Well, it's definitely a smartphone, and it's definitely a rectangle. The bottom of the phone definitely looks a lot like the iPhone 5, with the speakers flanking the charging port (which they even fashioned to make the micro USB look like Apple's lightning port).

There is also what appears to be a home button in the middle, similar to Samsung's Galaxy line. The front and back look to be either made of glossy plastic or glass.

Conspicuously absent, however, are the five cameras on the front that we saw in the leaked photos. BGR states that those are still in the plans though, so maybe the new leaked image has the cameras blacked out just to make the phone look sexier. It's also a possibility that the initial leaked image was a prototype unit, and the final model has the cameras blacked out much like motion sensors are on most phones.

BGR still believes that the Amazon phone should be out sometime this year, likely late spring or early summer. That would place it in the next two months or so, so we may not have too much longer to wait for official confirmation.
