'Mario Kart 8' News: Videos Offering Looks at All Tracks Now Online, Game's Soundtrack Leaks

Everything You Need to Know About Mario Kart 8's Courses

It's not much longer 'til Mario Kart 8 is upon us, and info for the game just keeps coming out. Some tidbits planned by Nintendo, others...not so much. Case in point for the former, there's a bevy of new videos out, each offering a look at all of the game's raceways. There's eight cups with four courses for each. CVG has exclusive on the videos, so you'll have to head there to check 'em all out. But we have made it a bit easier for you by providing which cup has which track, so you'll know where to go to look at what.

As for that unplanned information, the soundtrack for each course has also surfaced, but likely not in any way that Nintendo would approve of.

You may notice the links in the list below, but those don't link to the videos, but to the tracks' sound...um...tracks, which come courtesy of YouTuber
Vini64. With there being more than two dozen courses in all, we're not going to embed every last video right here as it'd be something of a loading nightmare. But we're also not heartless or lazy to just send you willy nilly over to Vini's video page where you have to search through the uploads yourself. So just click whichever piece of ear candy you'd like, but be quick about it.

This obviously isn't an official channel, so don't expect the videos to stay up for long. At the time of this publishing, two tracks are missing. If they surface, we'll be sure to update, but in the mean time, check out all the tracks from the list below:

* Mushroom Cup: Mario Kart Stadium, Water Park, Sweet Sweet Canyon, and Thwomp Ruins
* Flower Cup: Mario Circuit, Toad Harbor, Twisted Mansion, and Shy Guy Falls
* Star Cup: Sunshine Airport, Dolphin Shoals, Electrodome, and Mount Wario
* Special Cup: Cloudtop Cruise, Bone Dry Dunes, Bowser's Castle, and Rainbow Road
* Shell Cup: Moo Moo Meadows, Mario Circuit, Cheep Cheep Beach, and Toad's Turnpike
* Banana Cup: Dry Dry Desert, Donut Plains 3, Royal Raceway, and DK Jungle
* Leaf Cup: Wario Stadium, Sherbert Land, Music Park, and Yoshi Valley
* Lightning Cup: Tick-Tock Clock, Piranha Plant Slide, Grumble Volcano, and Rainbow Road

Mario Kart 8 releases on Nintendo's Wii U at the end of this month, May 30. The racer features one of the biggest rosters yet, with Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Rosalina, their respective infant versions, Yoshi, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Toad, Koopa Troopa, Toadette, Wario, Waluigi, Shy Guy, Metal Mario, Lakitu, and Bowser's kids Larry, Morton, Wendy, Iggy, Roy, Lemmy, and Ludwig as playable racers. Pink Gold Peach, a counter character to Metal Mario, rounds out the roster, bringing the total character count to 30.

Beyond the characters, Mario Kart 8 also adds in new items, anti-gravity, both new and favorite retro tracks, and the return of bikes, gliders, and underwater driving. Check out our hands-on preview of the game here.
