Xbox Original 'Halo' TV Series May Come To Showtime Before Xbox Live Subscribers

When Microsoft announced the details on its line of Xbox Originals last week, they gave the impression that the shows would only be coming to Xbox Live subscribers. That doesn't seem to be the case now, however, as Variety is reporting that Microsoft is in talks to bring the Halo TV series to Showtime before even its own platform.

"The deal with Showtime has taken a long time to work out because the sides are charting new territory for a show designed to air on Showtime as well as Xbox, with enhanced interactivity built in for the latter platform," Variety reports. "Details are still being hammered out, but sources say the plan is to have episodes bow on Showtime first, followed by the Xbox window."

So, that's kind of a bummer for Xbox Live subscribers. For people like myself that have an Xbox but not Showtime, this just opens the window for spoilers to pop up online before the episode makes its way to Xbox.

There's no mention as of yet as far as just how long the episodes will be delayed before coming to Xbox from Showtime, but hopefully it's not too long.

What do you think of Microsoft's decision to pimp out their biggest Xbox Original to Showtime? Let us know in the comments.
