'Minecraft' Xbox 360 Update: 'Halo' Skin Pack Brings Blocky Master Chief To Mojang's Builder [SCREEN]

Halo Meets Minecraft With New Skins And Texture Packs

Who'd have thought that Halo's Master Chief would return to the Xbox 360 before making his official debut on the Xbox One? Well, given the lack of information we've had on the next chapter of Halo, I guess it's not a big surprise.

The picture above came courtesy of a tweet from Microsoft Studios, revealing that some Halo themed skins and textures (note the actual Halo in the background) are on their way to Xbox 360 versions ofMinecraft.

"You got your Halo in our Minecraft, & it could't be sweeter!" read the tweet. Unfortunately, no details were provided as to what other skins and/or textures might be included in the pack. Details on a release date and pricing were equally non-existent.

Not to be outdone, Mojang's Owen Hill let slip back in late March that Uncharted, Sly Cooper, Heavy Rain, and Killzone themed skins were on their way to PS3 Minecrafters.

In related news, the PS4 version of Minecraft is expected to release this summer. A planned feature is to allow players to transfer worlds from the PS3 version of the game to PS4, and Mojang is looking to doing the same for Sony's handheld PS Vita.

A disc based version of Minecraft is also set to hit the PlayStation 3 sometime this month. Described Hill, "It comes with all the features you'd expect from the console versions of Minecraft, along with everything that came with update 14, including Emeralds, Ender Chests, potatoes, and more."

As of April this year, the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft has sold 12 million copies, the Pocket Edition stands at over 21 million in sales, and an impressive 15 million sales on PC.
