'Super Smash Bros' Wii U:' SCREEN Reveals Dragoon From 'Kirby Air Ride' To Bring Back Instant Kill [Rumors]

Super Smash Bros Pic of the Day Reveals Returning Dragoon Super Item?

The Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS details keep coming from Nintendo ahead of the staggered releases of both versions while we wait for specific launch dates. We know the title will be out this summer on 3DS, and most likely this winter on Wii U, but it's seeming increasingly likely that we'll have to wait for this June's E3 for the exact release date.

What we will consistently see are daily updates from Nintendo on the game's official site. The last significant info drop came from a Nintendo Direct, below, which revealed several new characters and details.

While the daily posts don't give as many details as that, you can be assured that series director Masahiro Sakurai will show us something new from Super Smash Bros. with every update.

Today's post focuses on a new item, which made its debut in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The Dragoon (pictured in use up top) from Kirby Air Ride is returning, requiring you to collect all three parts for a chance to take aim at an enemy for an instant kill. Here is Sakurai's accompanying description from the Miiverse forums:

"Pic of the day. Uniting three parts will complete the legendary Air Ride machine...the Dragoon! It's back! But we didn't just leave it the way it was, and added some nice touches to the design of the targeting screen. It is, of course, in stereoscopic 3D on the 3DS."

He also added the above picture in the comment section of the post because he thought "just the target screen felt lacking" and wanted to show the Dragoon itself. The item was powerful in Brawl if you could make it connect, and is an extremely high-powered machine in Kirby Air Ride.

Anyone who played Brawl will probably appreciate its return--the scramble for the three parts is entertaining, and the item is fun to use. Keep checking back for more Super Smash Bros. news ahead of E3, which will hopefully include an early specific release date announcement.
