Super Smash Bros 4 Release Date News Nintendo 3DS: Recap Of This Week's Revealed Details [VIDEO]

Recap of Super Smash Bros. News and Updates from This Week

The Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS details have been consistently coming from Nintendo ahead of the release of both versions. The game will be out this summer on 3DS, and most likely this winter on Wii U, but it seems we'll have to wait until E3 this June for a specific release date.

What we do get for now is Nintendo's daily updates on the game's official website, which mostly consists of daily pictures with captions. The last significant info drop came from a Nintendo Direct video a while back (you can watch it below), which revealed several new characters and details.

Nintendo does not update the site on the weekends, however, making it a good time to look back at what has been announced this week--especially if you missed it the first time around.

New Pokemon Games Revealed for Nintendo 3DS!

The week began with a stage-related reveal, showing the Punch-Out!!-inspired boxing ring. Series director Masahiro Sakurai explained that you can actually climb on top of the lights hanging way over the platform, which most probably wouldn't have guessed since they only look like aesthetic additions.

On Tuesday we saw two new enemies revealed, who will likely appear in the single-player campaign. The common theme between Octorok and Met was that they both like to take cover in their respective titles, making it hard for the player to hit them. In Super Smash Bros., you will be able to pick up (and presumable throw) the enemies when they duck for cover, according to the description.

There was also another assist trophy revealed, an item type that Sakurai enjoys showing off in these daily updates. Wonder Red from Wii U title Wonderful 101 will be joining the fray along with the many other assist trophies we've seen so far.

The rest of the week was item-related as well. We saw a new Bullet Bill item, and got a hint that he'll likely detonate when hurled towards the enemy. Friday showed off the return of the powerful Dragoon item, the legendary machine from Kirby Air Ride. You must collect all three pieces before you can use it, but if you make contact with an opponent, it's an instant kill.

That was all the Super Smash Bros. information we were given this week, but keeping checking back for more details and, hopefully, a surprise release date announcement.
