'Ultra Street Fighter 4' Release Date: Hits PS3 & Xbox 360 In June, Pre-Orders Get New Fighters' Alternate Costumes [VIDEO]

Ultra Street Fighter IV Coming to PSN and Xbox Live in June in Europe and North America

Fighting fans have been enjoying Ultra Street Fighter IV in arcades since it hit Japan in mid-April, but everyone outside of the country was left waiting, but they won't have to wait much longer, as Capcom has announced that Ultra is set to hit consoles here and in Europe in early June.

The release announcement is bittersweet though, as the June dates only represent digital downloads. To break it down specifically, Ultra Street Fighter IV hits the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live in North America on June 3, and Europe on June 4, and only as a digital upgrade if you have the original copy of Street Fighter IV.

If you're waiting for a physical release...I hope you're feeling patient, because it won't be until August 5 you have that option. Incidentally, PC players can grab the game from Steam right around that time, August 8.

Details Emerge on Ultra Street Fighter 4 Newcomer Decapre

On the plus side, there is a bonus for those who order the game early. Pre-order customers get access to the 2014 Challengers Costume Pack, which gives alternate costumes for each of the five "new" fighters.

Ultra will arrive with a host of tweaks and balance adjustments, but the biggest change will be the addition of the aforementioned five characters. Four are Capcom favorites who've appeared in quite a few games before.

Hugo, Rolento, and the gender bending Poison all made their debut in the arcade classic beat 'em up Final Fight. Rolento would cross over into the Street Fighter world alongside fellow Final Fight alumni Sodom, Cody, and Guy in the Alpha series, and Hugo and Elena would appear in Street Fighter III. In Ultra, they'll all be joined by newcomer Decapre, a Shadowloo Doll along the lines of Cammy, and Juni and Juli from Street Fighter Alpha 3. More info on each fighter at their respective links.

The five new costumes can be seen below. From left to right, you have: Pirate Poison, Medieval Hugo, Jungle Elena, Wizard Rolento, and Gladiator Decapre

In case a lonely picture isn't enough, there's also a new trailer out showing the fighters in their new attire. Check it out below.

Besides the new characters, players will also get new stages, all of which featured in Street Fighter X Tekken: Cosmic Elevator, Mad Gear Hideout, Jurassic Era Research Facility, Blast Furnace, and Pitstop 109.
