'Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls' PS4 Gameplay Footage Trailer: Ultimate Evil Edition Brings Death to Consoles [VIDEO]

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls Comes to Consoles

Blizzard Entertainment has released a new trailer for Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls, the upcoming console port of the wildly popular (and now superior to the originally released) PC version. Dubbed the 'Ultimate Evil' edition, the game is due out on August 19 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox 360. The trailer features a Crusader, the newest class in Diablo, laying waste to legions of demonic minions.

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls Review (PC)

The game looks good, people, damn good. More importantly, it seems intuitive and easy to manage the switching in and out of items, equipping gear and upgrading your stats. I was always a hostile gamer towards ports of PC dungeon crawlers onto consoles. I love customizing my keyboard, unleashing devastating combinations at the push of a single button. But even I have to admit that Diablo 3 looks pretty great on the current generations of consoles.

As we reported earlier this month you can transfer characters from your Xbox 360 or PS3 into the new game, so you don't need to level up another character. Additionally, you can down-transfer characters from the PS4 to a PS3 or an Xbox One to a Xbox 360. Every version supports four player local split screen and online multiplayer. An in-game mail system will allow you to send items to friends including Player Gifts. For those of you who have friends who don't have jobs, don't worry, in Apprentice mode, your level is boosted when playing with higher level companions.

Dude Is Entirely Far Too Good At Diablo 3

Reaper of Souls revitalized a game that many people thought was broken, but it can be a beast to handle on any machine. The number of mobs might not be as large as on a PC, but porting Diablo 3 over to consoles is guaranteed to give a whole new set of gamers the gold standard of dungeon crawling hack-n-slash combat.

The Ultimate Evil Edition goes on sale August 19 at select retail locations for a suggested retail price of $59.99 USD for the PS4 or Xbox One and $39.99 for the PS3 or Xbox 360. Check out the trailer below and tell us what you think!
