'Anomaly Defenders' Release Date Announced: Destroy All Humans In Tower Defense Game [TRAILER]

'Anomaly Defenders' Release Date Announced, New Trailer

Sci-fi tower offense game Anomaly Defenders, the next installment in the Anomaly series, has been given a release date and a shiny new video so that you may defend yourself against those egotistical, thieving, rotten, damn-dirty ape-like jerks: humanity! You can start your defense next week. The game drops on Steam and Games Republic May 29.

Fort Defense iOS Review

Polish developer 11 Bit Studios flipped the script with their Anomaly series, whose initial installments tasked the player to assault and destroy alien towers that had landed on earth in what is now called a tower offense game. Anomaly Defenders re-flips the action back to a more frantic, standard tower defense game, this time putting the players in command of the alien forces as those wretch bipedal earthlings follow a very set path in an attempt to conquer the planet.

As people, we are prone to view everything through the lens of 'go us! We're awesome!'. We annihilate alien opposition with impunity in a lot of science fiction, so doesn't it make sense that maybe, to someone else's point of view, we're the bad guy?

Defense Grid 2 Gets A Release Date

The basic gameplay remains the same. You must earn credits to purchase towers and use energy to repair towers, all fairly standard in the popular tower defense genre, which I absolutely adore.

The game's release is only a week away. You can purchase the full title on the 29th from Steam and Games Republic for $9.99, or you can pre-order it on Games Republic for $8.99.

Watch the third installment of the 'How to' guide to defending against humanity. One hopes that a later video will be simply be called 'To Serve Man'. Tower defense can make me really hungry, after all.
