Trials Frontier Hits Android As Free-to-Play Title

Stuck at a boring parade or family barbecue this Memorial Day? As long as you packed your smartphone or tablet, you'll be fine, because the latest Trials title from Ubisoft, Trials Frontier, has finally made its way over to Android.

Trials Frontier iOS Success Thrills Ubisoft, Title Downloaded 6 Million Times in One Week

Frontiers is a tad cartoonier than Trials Fusion, but features the same physics-based gameplay as its console cousin. As a free-to-play game, microtransactions are obviously a factor of the game, but can the process can be ignored if you're willing.

The game takes place in a Mad Max styled wasteland of the future. Players take on the role of a sort-of hero in an Old West town, doing favors for various shady looking characters in exchange for bits of currency and experience that can be used for character upgrade and bike customization. The more you play, the more you unlock, with new maps, tracks, bikes, etc.

Trials Evolution DLC, Riders of Doom, Out Now

The game was thoroughly well received by iOS players with more than 10 million downloads, and an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. Now Android owners get their chance.

The content included with the game so far is just the beginning. According to a press release, "Trials Frontier will receive regular post-launch updates that include new bikes, missions and the introduction of infinite multiplayer brawls to keep players competing and racing on the newest bikes. Stay connected with friends through time challenges, leaderboard sharing capabilities and social network integration to prove who has the fastest time."
