The semi-final voting for the NHL 15 cover athlete is over, and EA Sports has announced the two finalists who will go head to head for the right to grace the game's box.

Montreal's P.K. Subban beat out Los Angeles' Drew Doughty for one of the final spots, while Boston's Patrice Bergeron got more support than St. Louis' T.J. Oshie for the other position. Starting immediately, the two will go head to head on the official website and Twitter, where you can vote with the hashtags #NHL15Bergeron or #NHL15Subban.

It's a sad day in my book, as anyone who has read my previous coverage of the earlier rounds will know. I was pulling hard for T.J. Oshie, the American who single-handedly carried his team through the Olympic shootout against Russia this winner. I was supporting him from the beginning, but alas, my hopes have been dashed against popular players who have had stronger NHL seasons.

I've been offering my choices along the way, and I'd probably put my support behind Subban in the final. It may be an odd choice as a Rangers fan who is currently watching his team face off against Subban's Canadiens in the Eastern Conference Final, but he's a pretty perfect cover athlete.

The relatively young defenseman is already a talking point in the league and last year's Norris Trophy winner, while helping his team to a late playoff run this year. His controversial nature will make or break him here: people either love or hate what Subban brings to the game, and whichever way it sways more should be a deciding factor in the matchup.

Bergeron is a very skilled, likable Stanley Cup and Olympic Gold winner, and he may be able to ride his less controversial nature to the cover. The Bruins and Canadiens are most definitely not fans of one another, making this matchup even more entertaining. If you have an opinion on either candidate, or would like to see your team's player make it to the cover, get voting now.
