'World of Tanks' Xbox 360 Update Soviet Steel Gets Release Date: In Soviet Russia, Tank Drive You! [VIDEO]

'World of Tanks' Update, Soviet Steel Comes to Xbox 360

Wargaming today has announced that the Soviet Steel update will be hitting the console version of their incredibly popular free to play tank simulator, World of Tanks: Xbox 360. The update will go live next week on June 3.

The update will be the single largest patch the game has undergone since its introduction this past February. True to its name, the update is all about bringing the mighty arsenal of the former USSR to the game. A total of 29 tanks will be added to the incredibly large roster of tanks currently in the game, bringing the in game total to around 150. The tanks will be of all classes and sizes, including the MS-1, the T-43, the IS-8 and the heavy hitting ISU-152, among others. Those Reds, man, they don't have the best names for their arsenal, but they sure know how to fight a war.

The patch will also introduce two new maps into the rotation: Komarin and Ensk. PC players have long enjoyed these content additions, now 360 players can get in on the carnage.

Additionally, Wargaming has announced plans to release a veritable bonanza of in-game goodies called the Combat Ready Starter Pack. Slated for release in August of this year, 360 players will get a whole host of discounts for the low price of 15 British pounds (about 26 US dollars), such as:

The premium Panzer 38H Tier II German light tank, famously known for its heavy armor and quick firing gun.

- 3 days of premium account time granting 50% boost in accumulated Silver and experience.

- 200,000 in-game Silver.

- 1500 in-game Gold.

- 30-day voucher code for Xbox Live Gold status

I don't know much about, well, a lot of things, but for fans of the game, that seems like one hell of a good deal to me.
