'Disney Infinity 2.0' NEWS: Spider-Man Play Set To Bring Venom, Nova, Iron First & Nick Fury? [VIDEO, PHOTOS]

We already knew that Disney Infinity is getting a whole bunch of Marvel characters when the game relaunches as Disney Infinity 2.0 this Fall, but now Marvel has revealed a new play set that'll bring other Marvel-verse notables into the fold. Nintendo also went heavy with Disney Infinity during its E3 digital presentation, showing off the Avengers Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Iron Man, Hawkeye, and the villainous Loki, as well as offered a peek at Disney's Maleficent and Merida.

First, here's a peek at the Spider-Man Play set. The trailer below sets up the story, which has the Ultimate version of the Green Goblin cloning Venom's alien symbiote, and set the clones loose on New York, creating his own army of Venom. So who comes in for the rescue? 'Ol web head himself, joined by Nova, Iron Fist, and Nick Fury. Venom even gets in on the fight to show Osborne he's not one to be trifled with. Check it out below.

Spider-Man and Nova come complete as part of the Ultimate Spider-Man Play Set Pack while Iron Fist, Nick Fury and Venom figures can be purchased separately.

We also have a butt load of artwork showing the upcoming characters in their symbiote battling adventure, courtesy of Marvel.

 

Next, for those of you who are all about Avengers, we have a look at the world's finest team defending a frozen New York from Thor's brother Loki. It's all the characters you recognize from the silver screen team up, with Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Captain America, Hulk, and Hawkeye.

Finally, if Marvel isn't your thing, here's an official look at Merida of "Brave" fame, and the original Disney baddie herself, Maleficent.

Disney Infinity 2.0 is set to launch this fall on a multitude of platforms, including PS3 and PS4, Wii U, Windows PC, iOS, and Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
