Super Smash Bros Daily Update Reveals New Mini-Game 'Trophy Rush'

The Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS details will keep coming from Nintendo ahead of the staggered release of both versions, even after all the excitement from E3.

Super Smash Bros. Characters Pac-man, Lady Palutena And More Revealed

The title will be out for 3DS on October 3, as Nintendo announced at the gaming conference, and this holiday season on Wii U. A specific release date for the console version will likely be forthcoming as winter approaches, but Nintendo have plenty of time to make that announcement.

Several new characters and other details were revealed at E3 as expected, including the unveiling of Lady Palutena, Pac-man, Mr. Game & Watch, and the Mii Fighters. Even after these major announcements, though, series director Masahiro Sakurai will continue to give us comparatively smaller details through the official site in the form of a daily picture update.

Nintendo Will Sell Smash Bros.-Branded Gamecube Controller For Wii U

Like the Home-run Contest before it, today's post reveals another mini-game mode, which will remain mysterious for now. You can see it in the image above, and here is Sakurai's accompanying description:

"Pic of the day. Here's a new mini-game that's quite a bit different from Coin Launcher in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It's called Trophy Rush! The details...will be kept secret for now."

More side modes are always welcome by fans, extending the life cycle of the game (which already has an endless amount to offer by its nature), and we should hear more about it in the future. Keep checking back for more Smash Bros. news each day, and keep an eye out for new character reveals or a Wii U release date.
