Super Smash Bros For Wii U And 3DS Character Details: Pac-man Special Move Ability 'Bonus Fruit' Revealed [SCREEN]

Super Smash Bros Pic of the Day Reveals Pac-man Special Ability 'Bonus Fruit'

The Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS details will keep coming from Nintendo ahead of the staggered release of both versions, even after all the excitement from E3.

New Super Smash Bros. For 3DS Mini-Game Trophy Rush Revealed

The title will be out for 3DS on October 3, as Nintendo announced at the gaming conference, and this holiday season on Wii U. A specific release date for the console version will likely be forthcoming as winter approaches, but Nintendo has plenty of time to make that announcement.

Several new characters and other details were revealed at E3 as expected, including the unveiling of Lady Palutena, Pac-man, Mr. Game & Watch, and the Mii Fighters. Even after these major announcements, though, series director Masahiro Sakurai will continue to give us comparatively smaller details through the official site in the form of a daily picture update.

Today's update focuses on one of the new characters, Pac-man. The image above shows off his normal special (just the 'B' button), which Sakurai explains in the accompanying description:

"Pic of the day. Pac-Man's standard special move, Bonus Fruit. As you charge this move, the bonuses will change, and all of them have different characteristics and movement patterns when thrown. The bonuses cycle in the same order as in the original game, and the charge-up period doubles once you cycle beyond the orange."

We saw some of the iconic character's abilities in his debut gameplay clip, below, but it's nice to have some of what he can do explained. Keep checking back for more Smash Bros. news each day, where we'll hopefully see new character reveals or a Wii U release date.
