Fans have plenty to be excited about with Dragon Ball Xenoverse. The latest installment in the popular anime franchise will be the first next-gen title in the series, coming to both Xbox One and PS4 (as well as current consoles). But it's offering something else for fans- a brand-new character, unique to the game. Today we have a little bit more info about him...
Dragon Ball Xenoverse: We Saw The First E3 Gameplay Demo & It Looks Just Like The Anime
This mysterious redheaded character was first revelaed during E3, where Bandai Namco released a trailer showcasing the first gameplay footage. Near the end of it they showed him facing away from the camera, wearing what appears to be Trunks' clothes. At the very least he's also from the Capsule Corp, and from the future.
In the above screen we also see him watching Goku fighting Vegeta in a classic fight from the series, as this new character from the future looks on. Does this mean we'll have more than one on one matches? What significance to the battle at hand could he have? Is he going to appear throughout the timeline, showing up during pivotal battles, and what effect could he have on the future?

Another thing that's throwing off people is the scouter seen on the side of his head. While characters mostly gave up on scouters in the series after people became more powerful than was measurable, the video games have continued to use them. Dragon Ball Xenoverse developer Dimps used them before in their Dragon Ball Z: Budokai trilogy as health and energy bars, and in Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors Ginyu finds one that is capable of reading power levels of up to 3,000,000, which would certainly be handy.
Of course, Bandai Namco isn't helping. Rather than provide us with answers we were given more questions to ponder. "Who is this mysterious stranger wearing the scouter? What is the goal or story behind this new character and why is he talking to Trunks? What is the purpose behind this mysterious room?"
We are being promised answers to all of these questions and more in the coming months, when we'll also hopefully learn of a definitive release date for the game. More as we hear it!
