'Space Hulk Deathwing' Xbox One Release Confirmed, New Trailer Shows Off Gorgeous Unreal Engine 4 In-Game Footage

Update- Sony has just confirmed that Space Hulk: Deathwing is coming to PS4 in 2015 as well! Original story follows.

Tell me if you've heard this one before: a squad of space marines go onto an ancient derelict ship and encounter all sorts of extra-terrestrial beasties and must fight their way through the withered hulk to escape. All of this is done in the first person. Now here's the twist: it's a Warhammer 40,000 game. Blasphemy right?

Space Hulk: Deathwing Screens Paint An Ominous Picture

Not at all, and developer Streum On wants you to know that Warhammer can exist outside of the turn based tactics that made it one of the most popular board game of all time. Total Xbox has just confirmed that Streum On's new title, Space Hulk: Deathwing, will be coming to the Xbox One in all of its Unreal Engine 4 powered glory. No word yet on a release date.

Rendered entirely with in-game footage, the new trailer pits a squad of the Deathwing soldiers, an elite squad of Marines as they desperately battle against an oncoming horde of monsters. It's a scene ripped right out of James Cameron's Aliens and it's all kinds of great. The ending leaves you wanting more.

Marvel Heroes 2015 Epic Twelve Anniversary Event!

If you think you've grown tired of space marines, guess what? You're wrong. And clearly in the wrong hobby. Space marines are here to stay, and throw in the classic universe of Warhammer 40,000 and the makers of E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy and you have the workings of something special.

If the YouTube comments below the trailer are any indication, Space Hulk has a vociferous following and Deathwing is sure to fuel that love like little else. Watch the trailer below, and stay tuned to GameNGuide for more on Warhammer, Space Hulk and everything in between.
