'Clash Of Clans' Update Reimagines Valkyrie As An Axe Spinning Whirlwind of Doom

Fans of popular freemium mobile game Clash of Clans should get ready to ride the whirlwind! Supercell, the company that develops the game has put out several sneak peeks for the latest update coming to its popular freemium iOS game.

The latest teaser shows off the update to the Valkyrie. Always one that never quite lived up to her namesake, Supercell promises "with her brand new technique, you will feel the power of the AXE!!!" and adds, "with her mighty axe she will now attack multiple targets that are placed close to each other". Valkyrie: the Wild Whirlwind, both an updated character and kick ass all-female metal band. At least, it should be.

Over at the forums, the mods also teased some major new updates to the Tesla tower. The popular electric tower of doom can now be upgraded to level 8. Additionally, players will now be able to "copy your current village layout to your Clan War base with one button".

Clash of Clans came out in 2012 for iOS devices and is still among one of the most downloaded games available. The multiplayer experience combines elements of tower defense and real-time strategy as players develop and protect their own villages and towns, while also going out and wreaking havoc upon other players.

Despite the free-to-play nature of the game, Clash of Clans has been immensely successful for Supercell, which earned nearly a billion dollars in 2013 from the pay-to-win aspects of the game. The continued success allows Clash of Clans to continue to roll out new content on a constant basis.

Expect more updates this week. Keep your eyes on the forums and here at GameNGuide.
