'The Wolf Among Us' Episode 5 Release Date Announced

Telltale Games, creators of the best Walking Dead media, has just released the trailer for the season finale of their phenomenal story adventure, The Wolf Among Us. The game is based on the Bill Willingham comic series Fables, which follows famous fairy tale characters as they try to survive in this mundane world of ours.

The fifth chapter, Cry Wolf, follows The Big Bad Wolf, Bigby as he faces "a powerful enemy: a dark force that has been feeding on the desperation of Fabletown's seedy underbelly." The five episode arc is a prequel to the events of the comic series, and thankfully, is short on call-aheads. Players interested in the Fables universe can jump right in and not feel like they're missing out on something.

The game is slowly rolling out across all available platforms. Steam players on both PC and Mac can pick it up next Tuesday, July 8 as part of the season pass of all five episodes, priced at $24.99. US PS3 players can also pick the game Tuesday as part of the pass or as an individual purchase for $4.99.

The following day, July 9, the game hits the PSN Store in Europe as well as the Xbox Live Marketplace worldwide for $4.99 as well.

Lastly, on July 10, mobile owners can pick it up on the iPhone or iPad for $4.99 per episode as a collection of episodes 2-5 for $14.99. I cannot stress enough how much this game, and the comics, are worth it. You can pick up the first episodes here.

The game is supposedly coming to PS4 and Xbox One, but no official release date has been set. You can follow @telltalegames to find out more, or you can just check in with us. We're definitely going to tell you.

Be careful, there are some spoilers in the exquisite trailer below.
