‘Mighty No 9’ Kickstarter Up Again, 'Mega Man' Look-Alike Now Has Pre-Order Available, Animated Series On The Way [VIDEO]

Help Mighty No 9 Get Even Mightier (And Understandable To Subtitles-Hating Gaijin)

Mighty No 9 developer Comcept has started up their Kickstarter effort again in order to put up bonus content in the game, including a full English voice cast.

First Mighty No 9 Footage At GDC

For those of you who had already backed Comcept's first Kickstarter campaign, Keiji Inafune says not to worry in an FAQ you can consult in full here. Basically, your money is being put to proper use and Mighty No 9 will be completely finished using your contributions. The new one is all about bonus content, and an English voice cast is the first (only?) part of that to be revealed (unlocked at the stretch goal of $100,000).

Coinciding with this new Kickstarter for fancy pants bonus content is the ability to pre-order different editions of the game, including the basic version starting at $23, a deluxe edition at $50 (retro manual, soundtrack and art book/strategy guide) and a superdeluxe edition at $80 (all the previously mentioned content including early access to the game itself). Beware, however! Pre-ordering the game will NOT contribute to the bonus content stretch goal. If you want to do that, do it separately!

Mighty No 9 Uses Unreal Engine

Also in the pipeline: a Mighty No 9 animated series! This also isn't coming out of your initial Kickstarter backing, dear retro sidescroller fans, but is rather being funded independently from the game by production company Digital Frontier. The animated series is slated to be released in Q2 2016, whereas the game should hit your preferred platform (Steam, 3DS, WiiU, Vita, PS3/4, Xbox 360/One) April 2015.
