'Destiny' Collectors Editions: Bungie Releases New Trailer Featuring Tons Of Goodies For Upcoming FPS [VIDEO]

'Destiny' Collectors' Editions Announced In New Trailer

Destiny might not actually cost half a billion dollars, but Bungie is hell bent on keeping up with the Joneses. The games company has released information on Destiny's upcoming premium versions and they are just chock full of incredible looking extras. In true Bungie fashion, they've released a trailer for the editions.

Looking to create "an experience you can live in", Bungie unveiled the three special editions: Ghost, Digital Guardian and Limited. Each include the full Destiny game, soon out in Beta, as well as access to the Expansion Pass, which include two new DLC: The Dark Below and House of Wolves, which will drop soon afterwards. The DLC expands on the story and adds new gear in addition to new maps The DLC pack is a $35 value; each individual pack will cost $20 on release.

The Digital Guardian edition, which retails for $89.99, also includes a unique player emblem and a new ship variant. Because what's the point of spending a lot of money on something if you can't show it off?

Titanfall Gets New DLC: Frontier's Edge

The Limited Edition includes a lovingly, painstakingly rendered steelbook game case as well as a leather-bound folio that outlines some of the history of the Destiny's world. A handdrawn weapons manual will give in-game clues as well as provide details on weapon specs and types. This edition will retail for $99.99.

Lastly, the grand daddy of all the special editions, the Ghost Edition, will include the Ghost, the voiced-by-a-bored-Peter-Dinklage robotic companion that is in no way related to the Sparks, that accompanies you as you fulfill your destiny. Buyers of the Ghost Edition will have a red ghost in game, as opposed to the standard white ghost, as to better show off your big wallet. One is unsure if they will be able to re-encode Dinklage's apparently disastrous dialogue in time for the game's release in September. Still, it may be the closest you get to having Tyrion in your room.

The Ghost Edition retails for a whopping $149.99.

Look, whether it's half a billion or not, Bungie is sinking some serious dough into this project and the game is definitely tracking well. They need to recoup all their costs and then some if they ever hope to get Destiny 2 off the ground, and you know they want to keep this train going until the end.

Check out the Collector's Edition trailer below. Destiny hits shelves on September 9, just in time for you to have to choose between studying for school or playing the game. That, after all, is your destiny.
