Hasit Zala, game director of Homefront: The Revolution, has resigned from his position this week, adding to what seems like an ever-expanding spiral of bad news for the Nottingham, UK based studio.
Warface Free-To-Play On Steam Now
Zala, who was also creative director for free-to-play shooter Warface, certainly wasn't the only person to leave Crytek UK recently. Besides Zala, development manager Ben Harris also handed in his notice and left the studio this very month. Studio boss Karl Hilton spoke to Kotaku and said he was also quitting his position, although he is planning on staying on with Crytek still.
Ugly rumors keep swirling as apparently employees have not been getting paid on time, and more and more people have been leaving their positions. Like the government of Belgium, Crytek UK is simply without management right now, leaving the whole company in a state of flux. These troubles seem to go all the way to the top, as two recently resigned employees from Crytek's headquarters in Germany also reported not having received their final paychecks yet.

Crytek UK is currently still in development on Homefront: The Revolution, an open-world shooter set in a future Red Dawn-like dystopia wherein the US are a North Korea-conquered wasteland. The God of War-alike Xbox One exclusive Ryse: Son of Rome will not be getting a sequel.
Not being able to pay your employees is one of the worst positions a studio can be in, and we here at GNG hope Crytek is able to, if not sort out all their financial woes, at least manage to give all poor devs and other employees their dues.
