Domo arigato Mr. Rob-a new summer trailer for a much different Styx has premiered from developer Cyanide Studio.
Styx: Master Of Shadows is a new stealth action title that puts you in the role of Styx, a 200 year-old goblin with a penchant for thievery and assassination. The game tasks you the player with infiltrating the Tower of Akenash in order to steal the Heart of the World Tree. The tree produces a powerful liquid called Amber that the humans and elves of the fantasy world jealousy covet and protect from all outsiders, especially Goblins, whom they do not even believe exist in the first place.
It is up to you to relieve them of their ignorance. The game places a heavy emphasis on stealth action. From the official website: "Sneak, poison, extinguish, kill and assassinate your way to the source of the Amber, anticipating the movement of the guards by poisoning a communal drinking well and waiting for the inevitable thud, or smothering a guard with your clone as you slit the throat of his companion. Use the environment to your advantage by distracting guards and crushing them from the rafters, but be sure to stick to the darkness by extinguishing lights and staying to the shadows."

The mechanics seem very well thought out, players have to hide bodies they kill and disappear into crawl spaces small enough only for a goblin to avoid detection. " The levels are open and the objectives can be completed in various ways: you are therefore free to choose the best way to proceed and the most suitable strategy to employ to achieve and complete your mission objectives."
The game will feature a healthy dose of RPG mechanics as well. Players will have access to six talent trees from which to cull their abilities and will constantly be acquiring new skills, weapons and moves as you guide the tiny goblin further and further up the tower.
