PS4 Firmware Update Coming This August, Says Insider, Will Be Brought Up To PS3 Levels
Well-known PlayStation industry insider Tidux has took to Twitter once again to reveal some interesting console tidbits concerning the machine's firmware.
Even though Tidux has proven fairly reliable in the past, anything we report is here is just Twitter hearsay, so please take all of this with a grain of salt. First of all, Tidux claimed Sony would start making announcements around GamesCom. Whether he meant at the games conference in Germany itself or just an online announcement around that time, he did not say.
The announcement will concern bringing the PS4 up to speed with everything the PS3 has plus "some new stuff". When asked, the insider gave the example of "media playback". PlayStation representative Fred Dutton had earlier commented on the official PlayStation blog that a PS firmware update was planned in the near future, but declined to give any extra information.
Could we have uncovered the identity of Tidux here, hmmm? No, I would never make such bold claims as that, dear readers! I am a person who knew who the Yellow King was literally minutes before True Detective revealed to me he was SOME GUY so I wouldn't count on my investigative abilities too much.
What is some "new stuff" that you'd like to see revealed for your stations of play? Sound off in the comments below, or stare at the PlayStation until you come up with something. I will join you right now. See you soon, friends!
