‘Mass Effect 4’ Dev’s New IP ‘Nightmare’ Teaser Released, Shows Off ‘Hannibal’ Like Visuals [VIDEO]

Smoke ‘Em If Ya Got ‘Em: BioWare’s Creepy New IP Nightmare Teased

Fan-favorite RPG developers BioWare, known from such legendary franchises such as Mass Effect and Dragon Age, have released a scary teaser for their newest game codenamed Nightmare.

Mass Effect 4 Details Coming At SDCC

In the teaser, a young man is chased down an alleyway by an unknown force as a discordant tune crescendos in the background. The young man reaches a muscle car, hoping to get away from whatever is chasing him, only to find he (or an evil version of him) is already inside. Then he wakes up, and the teaser tells us in a title card "You Have Been Chosen". For what? Why? When? Wherefore?

AllGamesBeta already tweeted that BioWare trademarked "Shadow Realms" months ago, so this could be a possible title for the upcoming game. There's not much to go on in terms of getting a feel for the game itself, it being a live action teaser and all, but the atmosphere BioWare's going for here will definitely be recognizable for fans of Bryan Fuller's amazing NBC horror show Hannibal. With its stylish compositions and surreal visuals, you could be forgiven if you thought "You Have Been Chosen" was actually a teaser for the third season of said show.

Dragon Age Companion Solas, A Self-Taught Elven Mage, Introduced

This is most certainly a clever move on BioWare's part, as there is a great intersectionality between the Tumblr-based fans of BW's big franchises Dragon Age and Mass Effect and the Fannibals on the same social media platform. Good marketing, fellas!
