This Week's Nintendo eShop And Virtual Console New Content Includes Wooden Sen'SeY, Siesta Fiesta And NES Classic Blaster Master

Players at Comic Con may be getting their fill of Super Smash Bros, but what of those of us who could not make it out to San Diego? Are we to be denied fun new experiences?

New Hyrule Warriors Trailer Highlights Princess Ruto

Nay, says Nintendo. This is the week’s highlights from the Nintendo eShop and Virtual Console.

Siesta Fiesta - maybe you finished Guacamelee recently and are in need of a Mexican-themed fix. Well, Siesta Fiesta may help fill that void. It’s little old school Arkanoid and a little sidescroller and colorful as all get out. Who needs grim and gritty when the whole world’s a party, just waiting to be smashed? The game is available exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS and is priced at $5.99.

New Skylander's Trap Team Figures Announced At Comic Con

Wooden Sen’SeY - or perhaps your tastes are a little more exotic and you’re feeling like Japanese tonight. The charming little platformer puts you on a quest to save your village. Jump, grapple, smash and dodge your way through 30 hair-raising levels. The game is available on the Wii U for $9.99.

Two new Virtual Console titles will ignite fond feelings of nostalgia. Blaster Master, the seminal 8 bit side scroller and top-down actioner. A rarity for those times. Most games were either one or the other. Beyond all the monsters and mayhem, the game is about a guy named Jason who just wants to find his beloved frog Fred after the poor guy goes missing. That’s all we thought we ever needed from a plot of a game, and really, what has changed? Pick it up! The game is available for the 3DS and is priced at $4.99.

The second title is Ufouria: The Saga, another side-scroller originally released in Japan, Europe and Australia that did not get a release until 2010 for the original Wii’s VC. Players can switch back and forth between four different characters as they navigate through an unbroken side-scrolling world as you attempt to defeat the alien, Unyo. I take it back, maybe that’s all we needed in a video game. You can pick this one up for the Wii U at $4.99.
