Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Release Date Announced: Hits September With Free Adachi And Marie DLC

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Gets Official Release Date

ATLUS has announced a release date for the second sequel to Persona 4, and has some limited-time free content set for launch.

Check Out The J-Pop Filled Opening Cinematic Of Persona Q

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax will be hitting stores on September 30 for both PS3 and Xbox 360, and pick up the story from Persona 4 Arena. Alongside experiencing more of the story the game will add the usual things you'd expect from fighting game sequels- more characters. 13 playable characters return from the previous title, rebalanced and some with new moves, as well as six new characters contained in the base game.

Two more new characters appear as DLC; rookie cop Adachi and Marie, a character that appears in the Velvet room. Both were characters with social links to your player character that were introduced in Persona 4 Golden, the definitive version of that game and the single best title you can pick up for the PS Vita. These are being considered special characters and are only available via paid DLC, but for the first week of launch they will be free for anyone who buys the game.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Will Be Region Free- Import Away!

Don't forget that if you pre-order the game you will receive an inflatable Teddie punching bag and a set of Tarot Cards. There's definitely an incentive to be an early adopter here. Persona 4 Golden really is one of the best JRPGs ever made, and while these fighting games are quite different it's a great way to see your beloved characters one more time and find out where they end up.

This won't be your last chance to see them, of course. Persona Q is on the way for Nintendo 3DS this November, and it has the cast of Persona 4 joining the cast of Persona 3 in some Etrian Odyssey-style dungeon crawling.

After that there is also Persona 4: Dancing All Night, which is a music game for the PS Vita that will star Rise Kujikawa, which is perfect, as she's a former pop-star.

Along with all of that we have Persona 5 hitting sometime next year for the PS3, absolutely the best reason to hold onto the system!

So yes, fans should be excited for the months to come- this is a Persona world- we just live in it.
