FIFA 15 Team Management Options Revealed, New Menu System Makes Customizing Formations And Tactics Easier

New details about FIFA 15 team management have been revealed, joining the video footage and other news related to the football sim that we've seen so far.

EA Sports posted an update on its website showing off the revamped team management pages, which allow you to customize tactics and formations with more ease than before. The menus had become a bit cumbersome, mostly the same layout used for several years, and the redesign seems to streamline the process across all game modes.

Below, you can see several new images that show off the new system, which keeps everything in one place. Creating custom formations in particular was a disorganized task at best, but hopefully this new menu helps you create, save, and apply them in a more orderly fashion.

"FIFA 15 gives you a brand new way to manage squads and team sheets across all game modes," the site reads. "Customize up to six different Team Sheets per club and alter your strategy based on your next opponent, the changing tactics in-game and fitness of your players. Get your favorite team playing the way you want them to play."

Your customized Team Sheets will apply to Career Mode, Match Day (Kick-Off), Online Friendlies, and Tournaments. For team instructions, you can give the outfield players up to five attacking and defending directions, micromanaging how your players move in transition up field or when positioning for defense.

In the roles section, there are now separate options for left and right free-kick takers, something that was not specified in past titles. Hopefully your selections stick, as well: in past games when you switched out the designated set piece-taker to the bench, it wouldn't remember your preference when he was back in the starting eleven and you'd have to go change it each time. This is a hassle, and hopefully you can make a ranked list (as seen inFootball Manager) of your takers.

The tactics screen (where you can change the speed of buildup, how your team creates chances, etc) looks mostly the same, but ideally its integration into this new menu system will make it more useful. Check back for more FIFA 15 news and footage as the September 23 release date approaches.
