Nintendo eShop Update: New Games This Week Include Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge, Double Dragon 2 And A Whole Lot Of Sales

This Week's Nintendo eShop Update Includes Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge, Double Dragon 2 And A Lot Of Great Sales

The calendar says it is Thursday, so that can mean only one thing: new Nintendo eShop titles!

Super Mario Kart Available For The Wii U At Last

Every week during the month of August, Nintendo and Capcom are releasing a classic title from the Mega Man series onto their online store. They've already released Mega Man 5 and Mega Man Battle Network.

This week, they are releasing Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge, a somewhat poorly received GBA attempt at expanding the Battle Network brand. Rather than directly controlling the turn based, Final Fantasy-esque fights, players instead constructed decks of pre-made chips featuring abilities that the computer would then use to fight itself. So, it was a lot like being a football coach: you plan, you organize, you put all your pieces together and then it all goes to hell on the field. The title comes with off-tv play on the Wii U.

Hyrule Warriors Launches In Japan; New Ghirahim Trailer

Also hitting the Wii U is Double Dragon II: The Revenge (does that make it 4 dragons then?). The 1989 NES classic reintroduces us to Billy and Jimmy Lee, the Double Dragons, who are back to avenge the loss of their girl Marion, who in certain versions forces the brothers to fight one another at the end of the original game but whatever, right? The game features nine levels of classic side-scrolling beat-em-up. Watch the trailer! Buy it for $4.99.

No major new releases for the Nintendo 3DS this week.

There are a lot of sales occurring, however. Check out the deals. See anything you like?
