Mega Slowbro is joining the fray, the goofy character bringing its comical appearance and style to the next level. You can see the evolution in the video below--it's pretty absurd.
Mega Evolutions have been a popular choice for reveals by The Pokemon Company recently--new announcements are frequently being released the developer. The Mega Slowbro trailer for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire joins the first (which showed off several Mega Evolutions, including Shiny Mega Metagross), and the recent Mega Audino video.

There doesn't seem to be much consistent reasoning to which Pokemon are getting Mega Evolutions--they seem to range from the more obscure (Slowbro) to the more powerful (Metagross). I'm sure the developers have an idea in mind when picking which characters will be getting the upgrade, but it seems fairly scattershot from this end. Still, the more new evolutions we see, the better--I don't think most fans will be complaining.
