The Witcher Battle Arena Closed Beta Sign-Ups Now Live

While you wait for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, why not relax with a new mobile MOBA? CD Projekt RED today unveiled debut gameplay footage for The Witcher Battle Arena and is letting you sign up to play it yourself for free in an early beta.

More On The Witcher Battle Arena From Its Announcement!

The Wicher Battle Arena is a MOBA designed for tablets and phones that will feature many familiar characters from The Witcher universe and allow gamers to battle online.

The game will be free to play but the designers at CD Projekt are stating that the game is being designed "with fairness in mind", featuring absolutely no pay-to-win elements, that every piece of in-game content will be unlockable via gameplay. Judging from their history of always looking out for gamers' best interests with GOG.com, we believe them.

The Witcher 3 Xbox One Collector's Edition Will Contain Exclusive Physical Card Game

"We are extremely passionate about games, whether they be for PC, console or mobile devices," said Benjamin Lee, Producer for Mobile Games, CD PROJEKT RED. "The Witcher Battle Arena is our take on the MOBA genre and we are really excited at the prospect of sharing it with the gaming community! We highly value fans of The Witcher, and their opinions have always been paramount in helping us develop a great gaming experience--The Witcher Battle Arena is no exception!"

"It doesn't matter if you're new to MOBA games or The Witcher universe, we've made a lot of effort to create a fun experience for everyone," added Lee.

As he says, the beta will be launching quite soon, and will allow CD Projekt and developer Fuero Games balance gameplay, fix potential netcode issues and further refine in-game features.

The beta will allow those who are selected to try out eight heroes (Letho, Philippa, Operator, Eithne, Iorveth, Saskia, Golem, and Zoltan) in two playable maps- The Arena and Korath Desert. Only the Conquest mode will be available. Players can level up their profiles as in an RPG and will be able to test some new functions coming to the full game later this year.

Note that this beta is only for Android users so far- iOS will get it as well but it's likely far easier to test it with apks.
