Assassin's Creed Unity Protagonist Character Profile: Meet Arno Dorian

Assassin's Creed Unity Voice Actor Introduces Us To Protagonist Arno Dorian

The Ubisoft YouTube page posted a video today that introduces us to Arno Dorian, the witty, self-assured protagonist for Assassin's Creed Unity.

Ubisoft Is Taking Out Counter Kills And Chains In Unity

In the video, voice actor Dan Jeannotte walks us through the personality of his character Arno while giving a sense of what drives the character throughout the game. Arno isn't always the most likable character. He begins the narrative as a selfish and hot-headed young man. When he reaches out to the Assassin Order for help with a personal matter, however, his newfound brotherhood begins to change him into somebody we can root for. Does anybody else think this description sounds like the origin story of a certain Italian Assassin?

From what we've seen from Arno's gameplay, he's quick and light on his feet, traversing the lavish facades of Paris' buildings without pause. It also looks like Arno is packing a sharp wit to match, maybe even passing into quipping territory based on Jeannotte's descriptions. Far from the stoic demeanors of Altaïr and Connor Kenway, Arno looks like he'll fit right in with the charming Edward and Ezio from games past. If Ubisoft is able to catch character lighting in a bottle, much like they did with the Florentine who charmed his way through three games, Unity has a shot to establish a character that fans will immediately take to.

Jeannotte describes Arno's story in Unity as a deep, emotional narrative filled with character development (having a Templar girlfriend will do that to a guy). If Ubisoft can deliver, then the Unity storyline is definitely something to get excited about.
