Estately Releases Flip App: The Tinder Of Real Estate

Estately Launches Flip App, The Tinder Of Real Estate

Estately, the disruptive online real estate app, is taking inspiration for their newest project from an unlikely source: Tinder. The explosively popular dating (read: hookup) app is a major influence on Estately's new service, Flip.

Flip allows users the same simple swiping functionality as Tinder, except that instead of profile pictures, you're seeing potential homes. Estately is being very vocal about its muse.

"Given the immense success of Tinder, we realized that flipping is the modern News Feed. Swipe interfaces are easy to use and intuitive-they help people quickly narrow down an overwhelming list to find their dream home," said Estately CEO Galen Ward in a press release.

The company notes that over half of Tinder users are over 24, a first-time homeowner demographic Estately is hungry to reach. The average first-time homeowner is between 30 and 32, according to the company.

The company claims it added the new feature because user retention stood high--the average Estately user used the app 22 times in July, the company told TechCrunch, and almost 30 percent of people who install the app return to it a month later.

Alongside Flip, Estately announced an update that brings its search service to the iPad, mostly a blown-up version of the iPhone app, but with more of a focus on photos. Both the iPad version of Estately and the Flip app are available now in the Apple App Store for free.
