Indie early access Steam title The Forest today received another scheduled update through an automatic patch, bringing several changes and new features to the game with version 0.06.

However, an unknown bug in the update was causing the game to crash, which forced the developers to roll The Forest back to its previous state until they can solve the issue. Endnight is asking for community support by way of crash reports to help the resolve the situation more quickly.

Still, it shouldn't be too long until the update is once again patched into the game--so let's take a look at what the developers added in v0.06.

Endnight introduced a new A.I. type, the starving cannibal, which will eat its fallen allies, and neighboring tribes will now interact with one another in different ways. This includes stalking, hunting, killing, and eating each other--just lovely.

All traps can be reset, which is very beneficial to the player's survival, and new plant types have been added alongside some props. As always, a plethora of fixes have been implemented, this time regarding framerate hiccups, arrow and rock glitches, and several other specific bugs.

General performance improvements have been made as well, and the combat has undergone more balancing and tweaking. The latter part is always welcome--battles can be cruel and unforgiving, quickly tossing away the progress you've made so far. The full changelog for v0.06 can be found on Steam.
