Super Smash Bros Pic Of The Day Reveals Character Customization Menu

The Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS details keep coming from Nintendo ahead of the staggered release of both versions, with the 3DS title set to hit on October 3. The Wii U version does not yet have a set release date, but is due out some time this holiday season.

Meta Knight Unveiled As Playable Character In Upcoming Super Smash Bros

Several new characters and other details were revealed at E3 as expected, and we got to see the game in action in a live tournament. Even after these major announcements, though, series director Masahiro Sakurai continues to give us comparatively smaller details through the official site in the form of a daily picture update.

The 3DS version continues to get more attention than the console edition as its release date approaches, a logical move by Sakurai. Even if the two versions share a feature, he seems to be increasingly opting for the 3DS edition for use in the daily image. Today, that picture is of the character customization screen, shown above, in which you pick your appearance and powers.

Here's Sakurai's description:

"Customize your characters in the Custom section. It sounded better to customize "characters" instead of "fighters," so that's what we went with. There are various ways to customize, but make sure you remember to set up the powers you're bringing with you before playing a round of Smash Run."

Keep checking back for more Super Smash Bros. news each day, where we'll hopefully see new character reveals or a Wii U release date.
