Hyrule Warriors Update: DLC Announced For September Launch: New Weapon, Game Mode Expected

Nintendo Announces New Hyrule Warriors DLC For Western Launch Featuring New Weapon, Game Mode

The folks over in Japan have had access to Hyrule Warriors for a couple of weeks now, but Nintendo isn't letting the game sit still quite yet. The company announced today that there will be a free download available for the game just in time for its Western debut.

According to Nintendo, the free DLC will be available September 19, just in time for the European release and a week before copies reach North America. The download will include a new weapon and a new game mode, both of which were unspecified.

The download will also give players the freedom to choose their music, presumably so that players can slice and dice their way through a horde of Bokoblins while listening to their favorite track (everybody has one) from Zelda's long history of excellent music.

This isn't the first downloadable content Nintendo has announced for the Dynasty Warriors crossover. New characters skins – including Princess Zelda's Twilight Princess getup and Link's tunics from Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time – were announced previously as pre-order bonuses from select retailers.

Further, North American players will have the ability to register their game with Club Nintendo before October 23 and get two new Ganondorf skins – his armor from Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time. All of these additions, however, will be making their way to the Nintendo eShop sometime in the future, Nintendo announced, so everyone can play as their favorite version of the heroes from games past.
