Cyborg Ninja Actioner Warframe Gets Xbox SmartGlass Support; Free To Play Co-Op Releases For Xbox One

Warframe Comes To Xbox One And Brings Some Cyborg Ninjas Along With It

Digital Extremes' offering, Warframe, a free to play four player co-operative online shooter is now available for download on the Xbox One. The game was released last year for Windows and PS4.

A PAX Prime Halo Retrospective

The company is quite excited to be offering the MMO-esque game up onto the second next generation platform. Says Steve Sinclair, creative director at Digital Extremes: "Warframe has been a labor of love for our team for over a decade,". "We believed in this concept when no one else did and it's so satisfying to see the incredible reception it's received from the gaming world - and now with the Xbox One launch it will just keep getting better."

Since the game's original release, 14 updates have been delivered. Perhaps one reason for the delay in platform releases (PS4 came out during the system's release last year) was the inclusion of second screen technology. Players can sync up their Xbox SmartGlass via any Windows Phone, iOS device and Android phone.

Battlefield 4 Contest: Edit Your Own Action Movie

"This companion app provides players with pertinent real-time game information and stats such as Alerts to critical missions and the Codex, which provides key data on all the Warframes, weapons, Mods and more to help players strategize their play."

Warframe clocks in at a hefty 6.88 gigs, so make sure you clear out some space. You can grab it here. If you're still not sure about getting it on the Xbox One, you can download it for free here for Microsoft Windows. Sorry Mac users, as of this time, there are no plans for our release.
